Problem Note 33044: Character variables that are formatted with W.d might not display correctly in SAS® Enterprise Guide®

DetailsAboutRate It

If a SAS data set contains character variables that are formatted with the W.d format instead of the $W.d format, the values might not display correctly in SAS Enterprise Guide. Although Base SAS recognizes that the character variable should be formatted with $W.d and displays the values correctly, SAS Enterprise Guide displays the values as numbers, or, sometimes, in scientific notation.

The workaround is to reformat the character variables with the $W.d format, which will allow the values to display correctly in SAS Enterprise Guide.
